Congratulations are in order for two St. Louis chefs.
This morning, the James Beard Foundation announced the 2017 restaurant and chef award finalists. Out of five local chefs who were named semifinalists for Best Chef: Midwest last month, two local chefs made the cut.
Chefs Kevin Nashan of Sidney Street Cafe (as well as Peacemaker Lobster & Crab Co.) and Kevin Willmann of Farmhaus are both finalists in the Best Chef: Midwest category once again. Nashan has been a Beard semifinalist five times previously (2011, 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2016) and a finalist twice, in 2014 and 2016. Willmann was a semifinalist in 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2016; last year was the first time he was named a finalist.
